Lisbon
Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, is a city steeped in history and vibrant culture, where old-world charm meets modern innovation. Its neighborhoods, such as the historic Alfama district, are a maze of narrow, winding streets lined with colorful tiled buildings and quaint balconies. The iconic yellow trams navigate the hilly streets, offering a scenic view of the city's stunning architecture, including the towering São Jorge Castle and the ornate Jerónimos Monastery. Along the riverfront, the Belém Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries commemorate Portugal's Age of Exploration.
Sintra
Sintra, located just outside of Lisbon, is a fairy-tale destination with its lush landscapes and whimsical palaces. The romantic Pena Palace, with its vivid colors and eclectic design, rises above the town, while the Moorish Castle and Quinta da Regaleira enchant visitors with their mysterious allure and otherworldly gardens.
Porto
Just a two-and-a-half-hour drive to the north, Porto offers a contrasting atmosphere with its own unique charm. Nestled along the Douro River, the city is known for its historic Ribeira district, where colorful buildings cascade down the hillside, creating a postcard-perfect scene. Porto is the birthplace of port wine, and its cellars, which line the riverbanks, are an essential part of the city's identity.
